My boy has always idolized me but as he grows I catch the occasional "your not really that great"look that I remember having given my father as a child and will soon blossom to a full disclosure that I am not a hero,god,or even an outstanding man.But when I won him this big old thing I was all of that and more one more time.The hardest part of fatherhood for me is losing these days

Herb
Herb Mericle jumped in the water every new years day behind waterville primary school for longer than I can tell you and I can tell you 30 years.
He used to cross the kids to school everyday.
I delivered his newspaper to him 30 years ago.
He was a great guy I wish I would have hovered longer when I had the chance.
